Weronika Maria Kuśmider has been awarded with a scholarship within the KPO National Recovery Plan for Culture programme in Poland to develop the DEAR ARTIST project.
The DEAR ARTIST project aims to create a digital archive of letters and messages in which artists will share insights about their work, career perspectives, creative habits, and lessons they learned in the industry.
It is a never-to-be-completed archive of thoughts and an independent source of comfort and inspiration by artists and for artists.
Just like in Rilke’s “Letters to a Young Poet”, the form of a letter provides a unique perspective, where we can borrow one’s lenses and look at the challenges of navigating artistic careers. As we learn throughout the journey, there is no one right path to follow in the performing arts industry. Especially after COVID-19. Especially in times of escalated political conflicts and climate change.
The idea of “Dear Artist” has emerged from the need for a transnational platform for exchanging advice, experiences, practices, and tips on navigating careers in the European performing arts industry.
