Weronika Maria Kuśmider is a director, producer, and artist coach, from Cracow, Poland.
She is the founder of Atelier Entre-Deux, a non-profit organisation producing artistic projects, providing educational and professional support for creators and culture workers, and acting for multicultural dialogue through socially engaged artistic practices.
As director, she trained at the Aleksander Zelwerowicz National Drama School in Warsaw, Ivan Vyrypaev Theatre School, and Université Sorbonne Nouvelle Paris 3. She also graduated in Liberal Arts and Inter-Area Individual Studies in the Humanities and Social Sciences from the University of Warsaw.
THEATRE & OPERA
Weronika’s directing practice is rooted in a deep sensitivity to structure, humour, and musicality. Her directing credits include works by contemporary playwrights such as Conor McPherson, Lulu Raczka, Adrian Szafrański, Martin Crimp, and Dejan Dukovski. She focuses on the development of new works for theatre and opera, with a particular interest in examining how human experience is translated into artistic form.
In 2021, Weronika received the ZAIKS Association of Authors Prize at the 10th Young Directors Forum for her show, “Un soir d'avril”, based on Julio Cortazar’s novel “Hopscotch”, for sensitivity to the original literary text and the ability to update and expand its meanings by consciously placing it in a new, original context.
COACHING FOR ARTISTS
In 2020, Weronika launched Coaching For Artists – a project supporting creatives navigate and develop their artistic careers. As a certified coach and a conflict mediator, she offers workshops and individual sessions for artists, art schools, organisations, and art collectives.
Since 2022, Weronika has been developing social innovations for artists in collaboration with Paulina Kwiatkowska-Chylińska. In 2022, they created Widzialnik Artystki – a workbook supporting female artists in increasing their visibility in the creative industry. Weronika and Paulina are currently developing the Re-ACT project, on dealing with rejection in the performing arts professions. Both projects were developed in the TransferHUB innovation program.
